Seamless Sophistication in the Devon Countryside

Dark True-Handless Modern Kitchen

Set against a backdrop of panoramic countryside views, this striking new-build in Devon is home to a bold and beautifully executed kitchen, utility, and TV space designed by Anna Coles.

THE DESIGN

Set against a backdrop of panoramic countryside views, this striking new-build in Devon is home to a bold and beautifully executed kitchen, utility, and TV space, designed by Anna Coles in collaboration with long-time client and property developer, Lewis, and his partner Chloe.

Having worked with Anna across several developments, Lewis returned to System Six to bring his own home to life. One that balances sharp architectural lines with practical day-to-day living.

THE RESULT

At the heart of this open-plan space is a true handleless kitchen, styled in Manston Matt Black and Charcoal Flow. The clean lines are enhanced by Brass Aluma rails, lending warmth and luxury to the monochrome palette. The kitchen flows into a bespoke waterfall island, finished in Ammonite Carrara worktops, which ties effortlessly into the polished concrete flooring beneath.

To elevate the design further, Anna specified a custom dining table in Linden Charcoal Flow, mirroring the wall cabinetry above the sink. This continuity of material and tone creates a sleek, considered environment for cooking, dining, and entertaining, all framed by 180-degree views of the surrounding Devon countryside.

Functionality was key in the adjoining utility room. Designed to maximise storage, the space features floor-to-ceiling cabinetry and houses the American fridge freezer, keeping the main kitchen layout clean and uninterrupted. The cohesive finish ensures the utility feels like a seamless extension of the overall design, rather than a separate afterthought.

BESPOKE EXTRAS

The design vision continues into the open-plan living space, where floating handleless TV units are integrated beneath floor-to-ceiling panelling, delivering a standout visual moment that’s both minimal and architectural. The cabinetry here maintains the same material palette, reinforcing a sense of unity across the home.
