FAMILY-FOCUSED SALTRAM KITCHEN
After visiting multiple competitors, the homeowners chose System Six for our quality, competitive pricing and design expertise. The brief was to create a kitchen that could comfortably support busy family life while also working beautifully as a space for entertaining.
THE DESIGN
The kitchen is designed in our Saltram in-frame door style, colour matched in Olive Grey. This classic in-frame style brings structure and timeless appeal, while the bespoke colour softens the space and complements the natural light throughout the room. Hendel & Hendel handles are used consistently across the cabinetry, adding a refined, tactile detail that enhances the craftsmanship of the design.
The layout has been carefully planned to allow the kitchen to flow effortlessly, with clear zones for cooking, preparation, storage and socialising. Every element has been positioned to feel purposeful without compromising the calm, elegant feel of the space.
THE KITCHEN
At the heart of the room sits a striking central island, topped with what is possibly the largest single piece of quartz we have installed in one of our kitchens. This uninterrupted surface creates a dramatic focal point while offering exceptional durability for everyday use.
The island is designed to work hard from every angle. It features a Quooker boiling water tap and an InSinkErator, one of two sinks within the kitchen, alongside discreet pop-up sockets concealed within the worktop. Integrated Neff appliances are housed neatly within the island, and one end is dedicated as a pastry bench, providing a practical space for baking and preparation. With room for bar stools, the island also offers generous seating and storage, making it an ideal spot for family gatherings and entertaining.
To the right of the kitchen, full-height recessed cabinetry provides extensive storage while maintaining a clean, architectural finish. Within this run, the left and right doors conceal an integrated fridge and freezer. At the centre, a fluted glass door opens to reveal glass shelving, all illuminated with integrated LED strip lighting to create a subtle yet striking feature.
At the back of the kitchen, a second sink introduces a dedicated preparation area. Above this, open oak shelving adds warmth and texture, with LED strip lighting fitted beneath to provide both task lighting and soft ambient illumination. To the right, an Aga takes centre stage, framed by a mirror splashback that reflects light back into the room and a mantle above that reinforces the classic character of the Saltram design.
THE PANTRY
To the left of the kitchen sits a truly impressive walk-in pantry, designed as a practical extension of the main space. Upon entering, a dedicated coffee cabinet sits on the left, fronted by two fluted glass doors that echo the detailing within the kitchen. Underlit oak shelving lines the walls, providing both functional storage and a warm, welcoming glow.
The base cabinetry features oak crate boxes, ideal for storing dry goods and everyday snacks, keeping everything visible and easily accessible. Matching quartz worktops tie the pantry seamlessly back to the main kitchen, ensuring the space feels cohesive and considered.
Together, the kitchen and pantry form a beautifully balanced space that supports modern family living while delivering a refined, timeless aesthetic that will endure for years to come.
