CONTEMPORARY COASTAL KITCHEN
This kitchen was designed for returning customers who had previously chosen a System Six kitchen for an earlier home. Now settled in Devon and undertaking a substantial rear extension, they required a larger, more contemporary space that would complement the new footprint of the house and support family life.
THE DESIGN
The colour palette balances depth with vibrancy. The kitchen island is finished in Webburn Antique Red, which brings warmth and richness to the centre of the room. The surrounding wall cabinets introduce Webburn Viridian, creating a smooth, tonal contrast that feels both bold and timeless.
The Webburn door style was a deliberate choice. Each door features an integrated horizontal handle sculpted directly into the central timber panel. The natural grain remains visible throughout, bringing texture and authenticity to the cabinetry and allowing the craftsmanship of the timber to speak for itself.
THE LAYOUT
To suit the newly extended space, the design increases storage, worktop preparation areas and functionality. At one end of the kitchen, a tall larder cabinet with integrated LED strip lighting provides generous internal capacity and an elegant focal point.
Two Webburn doors conceal the integrated fridge and freezer, ensuring that all large appliances sit seamlessly within the design.
The central island plays multiple roles. Its Antique Red finish anchors the room, while the seating area at one end becomes a natural gathering point for family life. Sockets positioned discreetly within the island allow the space to double as a work hub, making it ideal for laptops, charging points or recipe planning.

The hob is built directly into the worktop, creating a smooth, uninterrupted surface that enhances the clean lines of the design. Its integrated layout keeps cooking central to the workspace while maintaining the kitchen’s streamlined, contemporary look.
BUILT-IN HANDLE
Each Webburn door features a sculpted handle formed directly within the timber centre panel. This integrated detail removes the need for external hardware, creating a refined, uninterrupted look while showcasing the natural grain of the wood.
TWO-TONE CABINETS
A combination of Webburn Viridian and Antique Red introduces depth and character to the space. The contrasting tones define different areas of the kitchen while working together to create a balanced, modern palette that enhances the room’s architectural flow.
LARDER CUPBOARD
Positioned at the end of the kitchen, the tall larder cabinet offers generous storage with internal LED strip lighting that illuminates every shelf. Its seamless design keeps essentials neatly organised while adding a sophisticated focal point to the space.
