COASTAL KITCHEN TO DESIGNED AROUND A VIEW
Perched on the beautiful Devon coastline, this contemporary kitchen was designed to make the most of the home's spectacular 180-degree sea views. Created by Ben Gilbert, the project formed part of a complete house renovation, transforming what was once the property's entranceway into a bright, functional and beautifully connected kitchen and dining space.
When these homeowners began renovating their coastal property, they knew the kitchen needed to be something special. With panoramic views stretching across the sea and beyond, the space demanded a design that would celebrate its unique location while delivering the practicality required for modern family life.
Having visited two other kitchen companies, the couple ultimately chose System Six Kitchens. As fellow owners of an independent family-run business, they valued the personal service, attention to detail and genuine partnership offered throughout the design process.
Working closely with designer Ben Gilbert, the brief centred around creating a calm and contemporary kitchen that would maximise the views from every angle while providing ample storage, premium appliances and seamless integration with the adjoining dining area. The result is a sophisticated space that feels effortlessly connected to both the home and its stunning surroundings.
THE DESIGN
Finished in Manston Matt Cashmere, the kitchen embraces a soft and understated palette that allows the coastal views to take centre stage. The warm neutral cabinetry is complemented by Unistone White Eden Quartz worktops and upstands, creating a bright and timeless aesthetic throughout the room.
A central island provides additional preparation space and informal seating, while the carefully considered layout ensures that the sea can be enjoyed from every key area of the kitchen. Whether preparing meals at the sink, cooking at the hob or gathering around the island, the homeowners remain connected to the landscape outside.
The appliance specification includes a suite of Neff appliances comprising an oven, micro-combi oven, venting hob, integrated dishwasher and integrated fridge freezer. A Quooker Pro3 Flex tap adds further convenience, delivering instant boiling water while maintaining the kitchen's streamlined appearance.
Beyond the kitchen itself, matching Manston Matt Cashmere cabinetry extends into the dining area, topped with beautiful oak worktops that introduce warmth and continuity between the spaces.

A collection of integrated Neff appliances delivers exceptional performance while maintaining the kitchen's clean, contemporary appearance. The venting hob removes the need for an overhead extractor, helping to preserve the uninterrupted coastal views.

Matching Manston Matt Cashmere cabinetry extends into the dining room, providing practical storage while creating a seamless connection between the two spaces. Oak worktops add warmth and character.
