A BESPOKE COUNTRYSIDE HOME
When these Somerset homeowners set out to renovate their property, they wanted a home that combined timeless style with modern functionality. Having heard about System Six Kitchens through friends, they chose to work with designer Carly King to create a bespoke kitchen, practical utility room and elegant fitted wardrobes.
THE KITCHEN
At the heart of this Somerset home is a Shaldon shaker kitchen, designed in Stone for the wall cabinets and Viridian for the island. This colour pairing creates a striking contrast, perfectly balancing tradition with contemporary flair. The large central island is more than just a statement piece, it offers generous storage and seating, making it ideal for hosting friends and family.
Every detail was considered to enhance the country kitchen feel. A patinated brass Quooker Boiling Water Tap, Belfast sink and gold handles add warmth and character, while a decorative cornice frames the cabinetry for an elevated finish. To the left of the fridge, a cleverly designed bi-fold cabinet conceals small appliances yet keeps them ready to use, thanks to integrated sockets. Cooking is effortless with built-in Neff ovens and an induction hob, while the 30mm Capri Quartz worktops and upstands add a durable, luxury finish.
THE UTILITY
The bespoke utility room was created with everyday family life in mind. Shaldon cabinets in Stone house the washing machine and tumble dryer, with pull-out shelves beneath each appliance to rest a laundry basket. The layout ensures there is ample storage while maintaining the same clean, stylish aesthetic found throughout the kitchen.

Upstairs, Carly designed floor-to-ceiling shaker wardrobes in a soft Cashmere finish. Each bedroom benefits from generous fitted storage, alongside desks and drawers that make the spaces adaptable for the growing family. These bespoke wardrobes not only maximise storage but also provide a timeless look that will grow with the household over the years.
