JOB VACANCY: ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

Job Overview


With over 45 years of experience, System Six Kitchens is a family-run manufacturer and retailer of stylish, bespoke kitchens and bedrooms.


Will be working primarily on the Sales Ledger and to support the daily processes of the accounts department. Will also be working closely with our accounts manager. Answering phone calls and dealing with any queries that may occur within the department. Fully accountable for the whole sales ledger process, from sales orders through to invoices, payments and reconciliation.

The main duties of the Accounts assistant include raising invoices and credit notes for our wholesale customers, chasing and taking payments and reconciling customer statements. The Accounts Assistant will generally work as part of the finance team and be able to cover other members of the team when off.

 

Responsibilities


  • Processing Invoices and Credits

  • Credit control with our credit/wholesale customers

  • Reconcile and send out customer Statements

  • Chasing queries for unpaid invoices

  • Take payments from customers either on phone or in office

  • Taking calls from internal and external customers

 

Requirements


  • Excellent communication skills

  • Solid team working skills

  • Self-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and proactive nature

  • Experienced in Excel and Microsoft office packages although not compulsory

  • Proficient with standard/bespoke accounting systems.

  • Demonstrable experience of bookkeeping

  • Ability to work to deadlines

Reporting to: Jack Greenslade (Accounts Manager)

Salary: £10.75-£11.75 per hour

Rate of pay: £10.75- £11.75 DOE

Job Type: Part-time, Permanent Contract

Weekly hours of work: 24minimum – 32 maximum (over 3-4days), Daytime Hours

Ability to commute/relocate: Exeter, EX2 8QP: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

 

Experience:

  • Accounting Systems: 1 year (preferred)

  • Microsoft Excel: 1 year (preferred)
